Q: Why the name “Remedy Kitchen”?

A: Life is busy - managing packed schedules and endless “to do” lists make it a challenge to prepare the meals that we would ideally select. In addition, the reality of our Standard American Diet has had more exposure than ever, leaving our community searching for clean, whole food plant-based meals. At Remedy Kitchen, we believe that our prepared meal packages can be the fix, or “remedy”, for busy households who prefer high-quality, healthy meals.

Q: What measures are in place to address COVID-19 risk?

A: At Remedy Kitchen, we prioritize food safety and the complete health of our customers above everything - from high-quality, organic ingredients in our meals to a rigorous process of eliminating the risk of COVID-19, or any other illness within our control with our products and service. Therefore, we abide by the “COVID-19 Safety Procedures for Businesses” as well as the food safety regulations required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for all operations including the sterilization of all equipment, surfaces, and reusable containers and totes. Masking, glove-wearing, and maintaining a high-degree of sanitation in the kitchen is an absolute, including limiting the number of individuals working in the kitchen together.

Q: Are all meals vegan? Is “plant-based” the same thing?

A: 100% of Remedy Kitchen’s meals are made without animal products. “Animal products” include any kind of meat, fish, eggs, and dairy (yep, cheese from cow or goat milk as well!). Our ingredients are not only animal-free, but they are also whole foods - so no processed ingredients like oils, fake meat like “beyond burger” (sorry, not sorry!), packaged vegan cheese commonly used by vegan chefs, or anything pre-packaged which might include synthetics, dyes, preservatives, or other chemicals that cause our bodies all kinds of problems. Its possible to have a vegan meal (e.g., animal-free), but still not have the quality nutrition that our bodies need. So, YES, all food is vegan / plant-based - but a step farther - its WHOLE FOOD vegan / plant-based.

Q: How are meals packaged? Do I need to return them?

A: Your meal will be packaged in clearly labeled and color-coded glass containers, silicone zip bags, and 100% organic produce bags. They’ll be brought to you in Remedy Kitchen-branded cooler totes (made out of recycled materials!) and delivered without contact to your doorstep. The following week, the empty containers and cooler bag will be picked up from your doorstep to be sterilized. Simply give your containers a rinse, stack them in the cooler tote and leave them out on your porch.

Q: Is there a delivery fee?

A: Yes, there is a flat $10 service and container fee.

Q: Can I cancel my order?

Answer: Yes, if something comes up, you can certainly cancel. If you’re canceling before the order deadline, you’ll receive a refund. If you cancel after the order deadline, that means we’ve already purchased the products required to fill your order and you’ll receive a credit towards a future order. Extenuating circumstances always happen - so feel free to get in touch if needed!
